New Salon!

Hey Everyone!
So, I have some exciting news! I am going to now be working at Salon Chateau on Saturday's in Draper. I am very excited! I have been thinking about going back to a Salon one day a week for quite awhile but I wanted to go somewhere that I knew someone or somewhere that I knew I would love because honestly, I already work full time so spending my one day off at a Salon I didn't like did not sound appealing. Today, my friend from hair school texted me and said they have an opening at her salon and she now manages it so I thought about it for about an hour and then decided yes! Haha. Not much thought went into it because really it would be nice to make a little extra money and do something that I put 1 year and a half of my life into.
I have put my prices below if any of you are interested in coming to get some services done! If you mention this post, I will give you $10 off your first visit to the salon on any service! I will also have a special every month starting in May.
I hope to see you guys and would love to update your look for the Summer!

friends.

I went to lunch today with my friend Kamille and it made me realize how much I miss all my friends! Kamille just got married about a month ago and this was the first time I got to see or talk to her and it is so sad to me that we have to wait weeks to see our friends who mean so much to us. Kamille has been there through thick and thin for me. When Alex and I had broken up a year and a half ago, Kamille was the one who was there for me. She is the one who kept me going, she got me out of bed, she hung out with me every night to get things off my mind, and she had put me first when I needed her most. I owe her a lot but I seem to never be able to give back to her what she gave me. Hopefully, one day I will be able to give her what she gave me.

When I was in high school I had a group of girls that we hung out every night and every weekend but as soon as high school was over, we all went our separate ways. Some of them I haven't seen in a year, some I see maybe 3 times a year, and some I don't even talk to unless something drastic happens like getting married or having a baby. It is sad to me that someone you were best friends with and someone that you relied on every day is just a text or a phone call away but yet we don't connect the way we use to. Sometimes, I think, I should call them to hang out or I should set up a dinner so we can go hang out but do you ever feel like if they wanted to see you or talk to you, then they would try to put in some effort too? That is how I feel. Maybe that is a little selfish and that is why I hardly have any best friends but why is it that I am the only one who contacts them about lunch or dinner? I know most of them are married and I am about the only one who isn't but I am still just as busy as they are with their lives. I work full time, I have a boy to take care of every night, I have family that needs attention, and yet, I'm the only one that seems to have time. Also, maybe they don't think they have anything in common with me now that they are married? I dunno.

I don't mean to complain but I miss my friends. I want to be one of those girls that go to dinner with their friends once a week and their children are my children's best friends and we can all get together on a Friday or Saturday and just have fun. Maybe I have to be married to do that? I dunno, but hopefully one day I can have just as many best friends as I use too. I remember my mom and family telling me when I was in high school that you wont be friends with them in a couple of years and I would always get so mad and say, yes I will. They aren't like what your friends were.

It is sad how the years separate us.

All I want is to just have my best friends back. :)

Finally, a word from Jack!

I am not very good at updating my blog am I? I always think about updating my blog but then I don't know where to start because I haven't updated my blog for like 6 months. So, instead of me telling you everything that happened in the last 6 months, I am just going to start with where I am at now. . .

I am still the happiest I have ever been! My normal week day consists of waking up at 8:15, getting to work around 9:30, work til 5:00 pm, text Alex that I am leaving work, either go to the gym or go home and go running, and then sit on the couch and watch TV with my favorite boy. I could seriously just sit on the couch with Alex 24/7 and never get bored. It is crazy that we can be together every night and every weekend and still never get bored. We always find something to do or something to watch. He is seriously the perfect boy for me. When I was in high school, my friends and I would go out every weekend and do something and I was always the type of girl that wanted to go to a movie, shopping, bowling, an event, etc. but now I am perfectly happy just sitting at home. I am not sure if it is a good thing but it has to be that we can sit and entertain each other by just being around one another. Also, I figure when we are married and have kids we will be a lot more active.

Well, speaking of active.. I just joined a women's soccer team that is 6 v 6 and we play on Tuesday nights. I have only had one game but it was so much fun. I am no where as good as I use to be but hey, at least I didn't die on the field. We didn't have any subs so we all had to play the entire game.. did I mention only 6 players on the field? That means it is a ton of running and sprinting back and forth. I am still sore 2 days later. I can't wait for my next games and how cute is this? My mom, dad, Jenny, and Alex all came to my game to cheer me on! They are the best and seriously all my best friends. I love them!

So, usually I would not blog about this as it is something very personal and some what embarrassing but I started weight watchers two months ago with my mom to obviously lose weight and get in shape but seriously, this is the best I have ever done on a weight loss program. I have lost 15 pounds and I am STILL motivated. I put still in caps because regularly I would lose motivation before I lost 10 pounds but I am still going and am loving it so far. My mom and I have already lost our 5% goal and are on our way to 10%. My mom was diagnosed with diabetes in January so I have to do this for her as well. I am so proud of her and I really feel like we are really changing our lives for good this time. Every time I would try to lose weight previously, I would think in my head that once I lost the weight then I could eat whatever I wanted but now, I finally get that this is a life style change and it is something that I have to teach myself to have the healthy, skinny life that I have always wanted. Anyways, enough about that but I will keep you updated on my weight loss as I want this to be motivating for anyone else out there trying to shed some pounds! I will leave this picture with you as it has defiantly made me realize how huge my 15 pound loss is. Enjoy!

I love raking leaves and jumping in them.
I love not sweating to death when im getting ready in the morning because its so hot in my house.
I love watching football on Sundays.
I love watching the Utah Jazz (hopefully they start soon).
I love going to the Jazz games.
I love getting in my hot tub when it's a chillly night.

like my mother does.

Like my Mother Does by Lauren Alaina.

This song is absolutely beautiful. Have you ever heard a song and can relate to it in seconds and some how you push repeat on your ipod until you know all the words to the song? Well, this song did that to me. I had to drive up to the U of U today and I think I listened to this song at least 10 times before I got back to work.
My mom is literally my best friend and is probably my biggest fan. Most people say they love their mom but no one has the same relationship that me and my mom do. I have no idea what I would do if I didn't have my mom with me right now. I call my mom at least 4 times at work, I email her all day long and if I am not emailing her then I am texting her. I don't know how I could go a day without talking to her. She and my dad are going on a Cruise in 2 weeks and I don't know what I am going to do when I can't talk to her all day. I am sure I will have mommy withdrawals!
I didn't start getting close to my mom until High School when I went through a really hard time and she was the one who was there for me every minute of the day. She is one of the most loving and kind-hearted woman you will ever meet. She would do anything for any of her kids and has always gone out of her way to make everyone happy. My dad always says she is one-of-a-kind and that is definitely true. My co-worker at work asked my dad, "How did you guys make it 37 years? No one can do that these days." and my dad's reply was, "You have to find someone like my wife." That is so very true.
I always want to be with my mom! I am very much a home body and love staying home so I can bond with my mom. We laugh at everything and we are always thinking the same thing. When we are at the mall, and someone walks by with a weird outfit or something, we look at each other and know exactly what each other are thinking.

My mom will always be my best friend. My mom will always be the biggest fan of me. My mom will always be the one I run to when I am sad. My mom is literally the best.I hope I am just like her one day.

my updated life.

This morning on my way to work I decided I should start blogging again. One, because I always have so much on my mind that I ramble on to Alex and he tells me to stop talking so why not write it down for you all to read. Two, I never talk to my friends anymore so maybe this way we can still know what is going on with each other's lives. Three, I want to create something I can go back and read in a couple of years and just laugh at what I have to say. So, here it goes...I seriously can not believe it is almost Halloween! I swear it was just Christmas. I guess that is what happens when you are loving life. Nothing new has really happened besides Alex and I are happier then ever, I got a tattoo for my birthday, and I started training for a 10k in January.
So, to elaborate on those 3 subjects, Alex and I have now been together for *almost* 5 years (Nov.14) As many of you know we broke up last year for 3 months which was SO hard but it defiantly only strengthened our relationship. We have had to prove our love to each other again and we have never been more appreciative of one another. Alex just changed his major from Film to English so he will be in school at least another two years. He is still working at Taipan and loves every minute of it. ha. Ya right. He comes home from work and complains about how "bitchy" rich wives are. Poor kid. I am still working at my dad's law firm and I am actually enjoying it. I have thought about going to Law school but I want to get Alex through school before I go back. We will see how it all works out. I still do hair on the side, but mostly just for friends and family. So, if you need your hairs done just let me know!
As some of you know.. I did get a tattoo for my birthday. It is "love" in cursive on the inside of my wrist. I actually really like it and am glad I got it. It hurt so bad and if Alex wouldn't have been there letting me squeeze his hand off then I don't know if I could have handled the pain. It literally felt like an exacto knife cutting my skin. All I have to say is I am still the same person with or without the tattoo.
I started training for a 10k on Monday and the race is in January. I have always wanted to be a runner but because I have such high arches, I get shin splints really bad and it is hard to run when you have shin splints but I decided I would tough through it and see how it goes. I have an appointment with a Sports Orthopedic Doctor on Friday so I am hoping she can help with the shin splints so I can conquer my dream of running. <3
